ABOUT US

Dr. Luis René Arias Villarroel M.D. PhD.

I am pleased to present the project that ARIAS MEDICAL FOUNDATION has created within the educational project which is the Scientific Institute of Education (ICES). This institution currently offers a degree in physical therapy and was born from the growing need in the care of people with disabilities either by birth, acquired, injured or degenerative, according to the INEGI 6. 5 million people have a disability or live with a disability throughout their lives, however, we all require the attention of a physical therapist at some point, for various circumstances such as pain from poor posture, bumps or falls, accidents, and the direct accompaniment of a disease such as COPD, cancer, arthritis, and currently COVID-19 among others.

The ICES is the first institute to offer this career in the state of Veracruz, despite the fact that there is such a large population in need of the professional services of the physical therapist, it has been difficult to count on instances that offer this service and therefore that the students can come to practice during their professional studies, likewise, it has shown difficulties to find the adequate and certified personnel to train our students. Today we have ten generations behind us, among them professionals who have stood out at the professional level and are highly qualified. The subjects that our program offers are:

The students do clinical practice in different health institutions such as Secretary of Health, Center of Cancerology, Civil Hospital, Mexican Institute of Social Security, Institute of Security and Social Services of the state workers, Center of High Medical Specialty among others. During the studies of our students, it is important that they begin to relate to the patients and acquire the knowledge at a practical level.

In the state of Veracruz 10% of the population suffers from a disability or living condition, this does not include all the people who need our services for different reasons without having a disability. For this reason, ICES seeks to expand its services and provide care to this entire population who need and seek care from a physical therapist and find it difficult to obtain support through a hospital or government institutions. Our Institute intends to offer support to any person who requires it free of charge. In this way, we continue to train high-quality professionals and offer care services to this large population that needs it. This is why we have attached the architectural project in which it is necessary to have specialized areas of:

- Electrotherapy (an area that has stretchers, electrotherapy and ultrasound devices)

- Mechanotherapy (area specialized in therapeutic exercise, it is necessary to have gym equipment)

- Massage therapy (area with stretchers for therapeutic massage)

- Hydrotherapy (area with pool area)

- Multiple Stimulation Center

- Occupational therapy area

It is important to mention that each of the areas must have architectural adaptations designed for the population with any disability: ramps, signs, ample space for moving around with a wheelchair, cane or crutch, doors must be wide, as well

as well as the bathrooms must comply with all the standards established for proper care.

We have an area of _____________ meters ICES seeks support for the proper construction of infrastructure, as well as obtaining the necessary equipment to provide this support to the population of people with disabilities or living conditions.
